About this site

My name is Naga and I have been an educator for close to two decades now.
I have taught elementary, high school and university students various subjects such as English, communication skills, logical reasoning and linguistic analysis. I got my PhD in Linguistics from Rutgers University in October 2016. You can read more about my linguistic research here.
I am a big believer in experiential learning and learning through doing. In fact, as a linguist, I know that children learn a language best when they are immersed in the act of language using as opposed to rote learning and memorization.
This is why, in this website, I describe in detail various activities you can do with your child that facilitate the use of the English language. And it is all for free.
These activities can also be incorporated by teachers of ESL into their own lessons. I would appreciate you dropping me a message if you do indeed do so.
Apart from fully detailed descriptions of English language games and activities, you can also find reviews and lists, all focused towards helping your child become a fluent user of the English language.
I have also included a section which discusses the various components of the grammar of English. As a linguist, I have been trained to notice various peculiarities about the English language that non-linguists would also appreciate. I try and describe these aspects of grammar in as simple a language as possible.
I post new content regularly so please bookmark this site and come back often. I would also be especially interested in hearing from you so do get in touch through the comment sections or through my contact details.
I currently live in Singapore with my wife and daughter.
